Joshua's new toy

So, Joshua has been teaching himself to play the guitar...thank you YouTube! It is amazing, you can learn anything on YouTube! Anyway, he is pretty good (I might be a little biased, because I think that he is good at everything he does, but, I am the wife, I am supposed to think that, right?) I always thought he had a gift for music! You can look forward to future mini concerts posted right here on our blog...

Coach pitch softball!

Adalyn's team this year was the Pythons. She had a great time and got over her fear of hitting a ball that was NOT on a Tee. It really helped that her Dad was the "Coach Pitcher" for the team. He enjoyed being so involved in the game and Addy loved having Dad out on the field!

Just what summers are made of- backyard campouts!

We set up the tent in the backyard so that the kids and kittens could have a little close by fun! They wanted to stay out all night and Joshua and I were betting on them getting scared and coming in by themselves. We even told them scary stories about bats and such, didn't work. At 11 o'clock we had to drag them into the house... i think we were scared of bats, or worse!

Truck for sale!

Well, we love this truck, but we need to find it a new home. It is an Eddie Bauer and fully loaded. It seats seven people with the third row, and has very nice leather seats and four wheel drive. If you are interested, leave a comment! It has 76,000 miles and is $12,900. What a deal!

The Big Crawfish boil

The family had a Big crawfish boil to celebrate Dustin's graduation. My parents had the crawfish flown in live from the coast. And boy were they good!!! There were many Utah natives in attendance that had never experienced a true Texas crawfish boil. I think they may have enjoyed it. Although, it does take several exposures to fall in love with the little mud bugs!

Our little boxes

At the beginning of the summer, Joshua and my Dad built three garden boxes for us. The day that they built them, it poured down rain. But, their sacrifices have been worth it! We have had fun this summer with our garden. So far, we have harvested cucumbers, zucchini, anaheim peppers, broccoli, jalepenos and tomatoes, YUM!

Children's art festival

We went to a great little art festival and the kids made art and crafts at several booths, and all for free! Fun stuff!

Ethan Graduated Preschool

Ethan had a cute little program at his school for graduation.  He had a fantastic preschool experience and we are so greatful for the oppurtunity he had to go there.  He really enjoyed school and is so excited for kindergarten.

This video is of Ethan telling about his favorite thing about preschool  "My name is Ethan and my favorite thing about preschool is making a grasshead".  Watch what he does after he speaks.

Spring is here! And that means camping!

Yesterday, at about 4pm, Joshua heard the word camping, and thought, "why not?"  So, he loaded the car and took the kids to a nearby campsite.  Treston and I came up later after I finished my monthly cook-a-thon.

The campsite was just beautiful!  It was only 15 minutes from the house!  It was not very crowded and we loved hearing the sound of a small stream running right behind our tent.

This is him cooking pancakes in the morning.

The weather was beautiful during the day.  The temp dropped to the upper 30s at night...brrrr.  Luckily, I was the only one that was cold.  The kids were very well bundled and slept great.  Even Treston was as snug as bug, he slept in his coat!

Quick trip to St. George

We were able to make a quick trip to St. George last month.  Joshua's uncle passed away, so we took the oppurtunity to go to the services and enjoy time with family, especially Joshua's Mom (Nana).  We had a great time with her and her sisters.  We went to see the St. George temple and loved the spirit on the grounds.

Rapunzel Rapunzel, let down your long hair!

Adalyn had fairy tale day at school.  When I asked her what fairy tale character she wanted to be, I tried to sway her into being little red riding hood (easy enough).  But, she insisted on being Rapunzel.  We ended up having a lot of fun making a very long braid and she had a blast dragging it along behind her all day at school.  (She is sad in the picture because she is locked in a tower at the top of the stairs)

2 months old

Well, he is a big boy!  He now wears 9 month size clothes!  Here, you can see all the baby rolls, so cute!

Big enough to play!

Treston is finally big enough to get an exersaucer!  He LOVES it!  He just loves being able to sit upright and look around at everything.
